Morphology of Blindness (Sensory Experience)
PROYECTO SELECCIONADO POR ETC (Espacio Teatro Contemporáneo) Ministerio de Cultura.
Alicia BernalMorfología de la ceguera (Morphology of Blindness) is a sensory experience that examine the imagination created by blind people and there visual representations in dreams.
In a completely dark space, we enter into the complex imaginary world inside of Alicia’s dreams. We will experience small perceptive stories in this world. Some fun, others strange. Ordinary and extraordinary adventures. Ordered and unordered cuts from human unreality.
Through her dreams we will come to know: her childish games and her nightmares, her doubts, and small enjoyments.
Also the moment of her diagnosis, the loss of her vision, to her final blindness.
We will live in first person her downfall, her obstacles and the process of building her new life. Her own rich and personal world. A new parallel “reality.”
At the end of the experience those that visit her dreams will be able to “see” her world. A series built upon the research done about the dreams of blind people.
A place that reproduces what Alicia “sees.”
A sky without color, without clouds or wind.
